Mountaineering

Winter Fun in Scotland's Cairngorms National Park by Alex Metcalfe

As a rookie mountaineer with big ambitions to climb big peaks I noticed there was a rather large gap on my mountaineering resume! So I packed my bags and headed to Cairngorms National Park, Scotland to learn the necessary winter skills with Glenmore Lodge for my upcoming trip to the Alps this summer.

The pictures above are a brief collage of my fun in the mountains.

A Cairngorm Blizzard by Alex Metcalfe

I've recently returned from a winter skills course in the Cairngorms, Scotland in preparation for a trip to the Alps this summer.

On one of the days, my winter skills group and I were returning from Corie an Sneachda, a glacial cirque in the Grampian mountains and were suddenly caught in a blizzard.

All afternoon I had been trying to catch capture the spindrift being kicked up by the ferocious winds of that day. Two members of my group, Katie and Alex, served as fine subjects as I finally managed to capture the gnarly shot.
